HockeyTech Announces Partnership with NHL Seattle Expansion Franchise

October 3, 2019

HockeyTech will provide scouting services through its RinkNet and HockeyTech Cloud platforms to the NHL’s newest expansion franchise in Seattle.

Waterloo, ON – HockeyTech announces a new partnership with NHL Seattle to bring scouting software to the team. With all 31 current NHL franchises using HockeyTech’s platform, the addition of Seattle means that all 32 teams will now use its services.

The addition of the NHL Seattle franchise into HockeyTech’s scouting platform marks the latest partnership with the National Hockey League and their teams, all of which use scouting software provided by HockeyTech.

“We’re proud that Seattle is joining the rest of the NHL teams as one of our partners, which is important to us because we want to keep providing the gold-standard in scouting technology to the best player development and hockey organizations in the world,” stated HockeyTech CEO Stu Siegel.

RinkNet and HockeyTech Cloud are the leading hockey player management and scouting technology systems. Founded in 1998, RinkNet has been providing hockey teams, leagues and related organizations with access to daily updated rosters, schedules and player information for virtually all leagues worldwide. Users have the ability to rank, analyze and obtain information from over a quarter million players in the RinkNet system.

“As we look to puck drop in October 2021, the rich database of league, team, and player information available to us using the RinkNet and HockeyTech Cloud platform will help us build a competitive team to make Seattle proud,” stated NHL Seattle General Manager Ron Francis.

While the team will not commence play until the 2021-2022 season, staff will begin using the system now as they ramp up their hockey operations in advance of the Expansion Draft and NHL Entry Draft.
