History

RinkNet started in 1998 with the simple philosophy, “We’ll do the work, so you can do the scouting.” We just give our clients powerful tools to make their jobs easier, more efficient, and more productive.

After seeing what the system had to offer at that point in time, it was quite evident that RinkNet was the wave of the future for scouting and development in the hockey profession. Within a few short years, scouts and General Managers were singing the praises of RinkNet.

What does RinkNet offer a hockey organization ? It enables an organization to run at an optimum level of effectiveness and efficiency. All the data needed is found within the program: schedules, contacts, individual game reports, development status of players/prospects, and more.

After seeing how well the system works, our client list grew from three to 16 NHL clubs within three years, and currently 29 out of 30 NHL teams count on RinkNet as their primary scouting and player management system.

After impressing the NHL, many interested hockey teams and leagues approached us to see what we could do for their hockey departments. Currently, over 200 teams use our products, including Canadian Hockey Leagues teams, NCAA Division I and III schools, many Tier II Junior A clubs, European clubs as well as Hockey Canada and USA Hockey. More than 3,500 hockey executives count on RinkNet on a daily basis.

And our clients use our product! More than 10 million player reports have been filed in our system, we track over a quarter million active players in our database, and have filmed over 3,000 player videos.

In addition to offering great technology for teams, we also boast a full range of tools for leagues to organize the central registry, conduct league drafts, facilitate trades and transactions, all integrated with their own team system.
