This weekend, March 10-12, HockeyTV and the Maritime Hockey League (MHL) are bringing you MHL Free on HockeyTV, an entire weekend of free MHL hockey on mhl.hockeytv.com.
HockeyTV, a service of HockeyTech and the definitive destination to watch hockey online, announced this free-for-view weekend promotion as a way to kick off our broadcast partnership extension with the Canadian Maritimes’ twelve-team Junior A hockey league.
“Our league is winding down its regular season in exciting fashion with playoff spots and positioning still up for grabs,” said MHL President Brian Whitehead in a recent post on themhl.ca. “We hope fans from around the league and beyond take this opportunity to tune in to watch some of the great hockey the MHL has to offer as well as listen in to our many talented commentators. This opportunity would not be possible without our outstanding relationship with Hockey TV, who have gone above and beyond to bring the league to all hockey fans this weekend.”
As President Whitehead noted, this weekend is an important weekend for playoff spots and positioning in the MHL standings. Several key matchups take place each of the three days during MHL Free on HockeyTV, including a Friday battle between the Woodstock Slammers and St. Stephen Aces for the final playoff spot, a Saturday tilt between provincial rivals Campbellton Tigers and Miramichi Timberwolves, and a couple of Sunday matinees between the Amherst Ramblers vs. the Valley Wildcats and the Summerside Western Capitals vs. the Woodstock Slammers – both of which have Kent Cup Playoffs implications.
