HockeyTech CEO on COVID-19

The world has changed rapidly over the past week due to the outbreak of COVID-19, so I thought it would be beneficial to provide you with an update on how HockeyTech is approaching the situation.

First, our thoughts are with those who are impacted by COVID-19 already. We wish a speedy recovery to all those who are ill, and to those whose loved ones are battling this virus. We also want to express admiration and gratitude to the medical professionals on the front line of treating those who are ill.

Last week in an effort to protect staff and to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19, we were ahead of the curve instituting a policy for our staff to work remotely from home. As a leading-edge technology company, we were fortunate to have implemented systems over the last few years for just such a situation, so we were able to implement this quickly. While it’s not perfect, we continue to iron out the details day-to-day.

In the meantime, HockeyTech is generally operating as usual. Our team members are ready to help as always, in all of our usual communication methods – online, email, phone, etc. Please be patient as we adapt to this new reality, including “human” things like background noise from children who are a bit stir crazy in our staff’s homes.

During these times of uncertainty and volatility, we appreciate our partnership with you and will continue to deliver our solutions to you. We know that many of you are also trying to adapt to the situation, so we stand ready to help you with things like:

  • Using RinkNet as a tool to do remote/video scouting through your access to our vast HockeyTV library of games
  • Proceeding with any upcoming drafts remotely using HockeyTech tools
  • Finalizing stats for this current truncated season, or starting early to prepare for next season
  • Using your quarantine time to watch your favorite games on HockeyTV, where over 100,000 historical games are on-demand

Now more than ever, we will navigate this situation together. If there are any additional ways we can be supporting you, please let us know. And most importantly, we wish good health for you, your families, and your communities – HockeyTech is here to help.

Best wishes,

Stu Siegel
